Each year at this time Snowbirds start getting ready to do up their income tax. Another thing we do is submit IRS Form 8840 to show that we have a closer connection to Canada and thus are exempt from filing a US tax return.
Not everybody is required to complete and submit the IRS 8840. Click HERE to learn more about it and see if you are required to file. In most cases you have until June 15th, but do it now and get it out of the way. There are no costs involved in filing the form.
